My own journey began within the men’s movement in the late 1980’s, and it has been a cornerstone in my lifelong quest to develop as a man. I have had significant male mentors in my life, and have been greatly influenced by the work of: Michael Meade, Robert Bly, Robert Moore and Douglas Gillete, and more recently David Deida. I have participated and facilitated Men’s groups, counsels, and retreats.

An honest examination of the world today indicates that as a gender, we need to step up, challenge one another, and support each other in waking up. There are many skillful means for men to do this, including storytelling, drumming, ritual, meditation, and vision quest.

Most importantly, there is an essential healing that occurs in the masculine psyche when men are genuinely seen and received by other men; there is no substitute for this experience. This is how it has been since ancient times. Without a deep masculine connection, men tend to feel isolated, depressed, angry, lacking in vitality, and stuck in our heads. Our relationships with women tend to be confused and fear based, rather than open, loving and strong.

I assist men in discovering and developing their innate healthy masculine expression through individual work, groups, and workshops.
